The 14th Multi-Stakeholder Forum Organized by the Better Work Jordan in cooperation with The Jordan Garments, Accessories & Textiles Exporter’s Association (JGATE), held on 1/11/2022, which aims to sustain achievements and promote decent work and the voice of employment in the clothing industry and export sector.
The forum, in which representatives of the government, employers, workers, and international buyers, took part, discussed efforts to strengthen workers’ voices, social dialogue, and collaboration among stakeholders and partners.
High on the agenda were tackling challenges in the sector, and how the industry contributes to economic modernization efforts by equipping Jordanians with the necessary skills for middle management positions at factories and by attracting more investments.
Themed, “Towards Decent Work and a Growing, Sustainable Tomorrow”, the forum also highlighted the recently renewed and updated sectoral Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
The Jordan Garments, Accessories & Textiles Exporter’s Association (JGATE) set up a meeting at its office in the presence of JGATE board members to discuss the strategy of JGATE and the strategy of the ready-made garments exporters sector for the upcoming years, in the presence of the International Labour Organization and BDO Jordan.
